FAQs
General.
💻 I’m having a technical issue with the site. Can you help?
Absolutely. We’re here to help! Use our contact form to get in touch.
🗑 How can I deactivate my account?
We’re sorry you want to leave. Let us know if there’s anything we could improve on. Use our contact form and include the same email account you signed up with and we will deactivate your account and delete all of your personal data.
🗣 How can I make a complaint?
We’re sorry to hear you have cause to but welcome all feedback. Feel free contact us for any complaints you want us to look into. We will do everything we can to resolve issues.
📦 Can Items be posted?
We strongly advise against posting items. Our service is specifically designed for local, in-person pickup and cash payment—this is what guarantees your safety and allows for item inspection. If you choose to post an item, you instantly void all marketplace protection. We cannot help mediate, issue refunds, or assist if the item is lost or damaged outside of our secure, hand-to-hand process. Please stick to local pickup to ensure a successful and safe transaction!
Buying.
🤷🏻♀️What If I don’t want the item?
If you decide the item isn’t right for you, simply do not pay the final cash payment to the seller. Your Reservation Service Fee secured your exclusive right to view the item for up to four days, and that service was delivered. Because of this, the Reservation Fee is non-refundable when you choose to decline the item.
💬 I’ve paid the reservation fee, but the seller is not responding/keeps letting me down. What shall I do?
We’re sorry to hear that. If you believe the seller’s actions have prevented you from viewing the item, please use the Seller Fault Claim button on your order page to report the issue.
- Timeline: You must report the issue no later than 24 hours after the 4-day Reservation Period expires. The claim button will remain active for this extra day to allow you time to submit.
- Resolution: We will investigate your claim immediately. If Seller Fault is confirmed, we will refund your Reservation Fee in full.
🛍️The item I’ve bought is faulty. Can I have a refund?
Once you make that final cash payment and collect the item, the sale is final.
Under UK law, when buying from a private seller, the principle of Caveat Emptor (buyer beware) applies. This means there is no entitlement to a refund, and any refund is entirely at the seller’s discretion.
💪 The power of inspection.
This is why your in-person inspection is essential! It is your one chance to thoroughly check the item’s condition and functionality before you pay the final cash balance.
🛡️ Marketplace Action
We expect sellers to be completely honest. If you find a seller has grossly misrepresented an item (for example, hiding a major, unusable defect), please let us know immediately. We take misrepresentation seriously and will ban any seller who knowingly falls short of these standards.
Selling.
🤷 What’s required to be able to sell?
If you’re at least 18yrs old and a Birmingham resident, you only need to complete our quick and easy sign up.
💷 How soon can I get paid for my item?
Instantly! The moment they put the money in your hand during viewing.
⚖️ My buyer claims my item is faulty after purchase and wants a refund. What are my rights?
Your rights are clear: you are not legally required to offer a refund.
Under UK law, when selling second-hand goods as a private individual, the principle of Caveat Emptor (buyer beware) applies. Since the buyer had the opportunity to inspect the item in person before paying you cash, the sale is final.
- You are Protected: Provided you accurately described the item and did not knowingly hide any defects, you have not violated our rules or the law.
- Final Inspection: The in-person viewing is the buyer’s chance to check the condition and functionality; accepting the item and paying the cash concludes the transaction.
Seller Responsibility
We rely on seller honesty. Knowingly selling faulty goods or hiding major defects is a breach of our Terms and Conditions. Multiple complaints of misrepresentation will lead to an investigation and could result in a permanent ban from the marketplace.
