Reserve And Buy was a lucky fluke!

While building my first buy/sell platform for preloved school uniforms, I realised I had built a model that could work well for selling all manner of domestic used goods such as electrical-appliances, baby stuff, kids toys, clothes, sports gear, home tech and garden stuff at a community level.

We all upgrade stuff, change decor, outgrow things or have made mistake purchases we never got around to returning, therefore, we all have stuff to sell…

So, why aren’t we all doing that? 

Many people are put off selling their general household goods because it’s just too much hassle.  Either you have to put up with no end of time-wasters and no shows off Facebook or go through the rigmarole of packaging and posting with eBay or Vinted.  

And who wants to post their second-hand dumbbells or clothes horse anyway?  With many items it’s just not practical or worthwhile.  The cost of postage can make it really difficult for private sellers to compete against the prices offered by business sellers.  And if recent changes at EBay, like their simple delivery system have stressed out even the most seasoned of private sellers, what hope is there for the rest of us lazy lot?!

Fortunately, this platform was built from the ground up for hand-to-hand localised selling.  No postage means a better deal for sellers and buyers and a lower carbon footprint.

Isn’t it irritating to have a verbal agreement with a facebook seller, only to find out they’ve sold to someone else before the agreed pickup time? With no show of commitment, it is understandable sellers would want to keep their options open and operate on a first come, first serve basis.

We’ll remove the item from the shop the moment we receive your reservation so you don’t need to worry about being gazumped or pipped to the post again.

And when selling at Reserve And Buy, there is no need to waste your time answering zillions of questions to countless people. You only need to communicate with that one potential buyer that has literally put their money where their mouth is!
